Kirigami collection by Hubbardton Forge

The Kirigami collection was partly inspired by the soft forms of flower petals, and the possibilities of simple folds in paper that reveal complex contemporary shapes. The forged steel fixtures become the rigid frame that holds the shades, while the curved forms and heavy backings allow the larger shades to be substantial in size yet hold their shape. There are three new shade materials used in these collections:
  • Cherry: Rreal cherry wood veneer laminated to a backing with a clear varnish finish. Like all cherry wood, the color of the grain will darken with age.
  • Frost & Amber: Made from spun fibers adhered to backings with a varnish finish. Finished on both sides of the shade material, so the appearance is identical inside and out. More durable and cleanable than many paper and fabric shades. Non-woven shades that meet the necessary glow-wire tests for flammability.
